From October 27 to 28, 2025, the 79th Governing Board Meeting of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) was held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Commissioner HIKI of the Board of Audit of Japan participated in the Meeting.
Elected by the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), the Board of Audit of Japan has served as a member of the Governing Board of INTOSAI since 2013.
The Governing Board meets once a year. The mandate of the Governing Board includes revising and approving INTOSAI strategic plans, deciding on whether to grant admission to a Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) wishing to join INTOSAI, and approving annual budgets.
At the meeting, the INTOSAI triennial budget was approved, and the INTOSAI Statutes were amended, and new Governing Board members and INTOSAI External Auditors were elected.
