From September 23 to 27, 2024, the 16th Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) Assembly, the 60th and 61st ASOSAI Governing Board Meetings were held in New Delhi, India.
The ASOSAI Assembly is held once every three years, bringing together representatives from all ASOSAI member SAIs, to report on the activities conducted by ASOSAI and the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) since the last Assembly and for ASOSAI to decide on activity plans for the following years toward to the next Assembly, as well as to elect ASOSAI Board members and Audit Committee members, which serve three-year terms. The ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting is held once a year to report on the activities conducted by ASOSAI and INTOSAI since the last meeting, and for ASOSAI to decide on activity plans for the following year onwards.
At the 60th Governing Board Meeting, relevant SAIs were in charge of reporting on the status of ASOSAI’s activities since the 59th ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting (held in Busan, Korea in September 2023). The Board of Audit of Japan also gave a report on ASOSAI capacity development activities as the Capacity Development Administrator of ASOSAI.
At the 16th Assembly, relevant SAIs were in charge of reporting on the status of ASOSAI’s activities since the 15th ASOSAI Assembly (held online in September 2021). The Board of Audit of Japan also gave a report on ASOSAI capacity development activities as the Capacity Development Administrator of ASOSAI.
At the 61st Governing Board Meeting, the first meeting of the Board Members for the term 2024-2027 including new member SAIs elected at the 16th Assembly, governing board members discussed about a proposal to establish a new working group, and the theme of the ASOSAI research project for next three years.
